ALYSON HUNTER

Alyson Hunter studied lost wax bronze casting in 1968, being awarded 2nd in The New Zealand Art Prize for her sculpture.

In 1969 Bernard Meadows allowed her to work in the sculpture rooms in the Royal College of Art. After this time she used her skills with metals and chemicals to make her photo etchings.

In 2000, she cast sculpture again, using alginate and pewter and silver, which had a low enough melting point to work in her kitchen.

She made an ashtray for the Colony Club using as a model, the artist Damien Hurst.
