In 2002 Alyson experimented with film, making a first film of an artist selling work in London, seeing a buyer in a penthouse in Piccadilly, finding her painting in Saatchi and Saatchi, getting involved in an anti-war march, and talking about art and writing in Soho, with twenty -four different actors, writers, and artists.
'An Artist in Soho' 2002.
After discussions with film four, and reading the Guerrilla's handbook on filmmaking, she decided that it was not the direction she could take, and she was too used to working alone on projects.
She thought her skills would be better as screenwriting, and started writing 'Davisville Bank.' This screenplay being an idea that came from seeing people fleeing across rooftops after being held by a gunman in a bank, in Davis, California, when she was a professor there.
She started making small art films for herself; sound being an arresting part of the pieces.
